We need your help
Dear Supporter,
I am writing to ask you to make a donation to support the next phase of Net Zero Watch’s work.
We are developing a practical implementation plan to help the next government unwind the laws, regulations and commitments that are driving Britain’s high energy costs. This is detailed work, and it matters.
Energy is the master resource. Britain cannot restore growth or political stability until energy costs come down. Since the mid-2000s, policy has pushed Britain towards a system that produces less power at higher cost. That must change after the next election.
But the Net Zero system has been deliberately designed to be difficult to reverse. It is embedded in law, regulation, private contracts, planning rules and international treaty commitments. Ed Miliband is currently on a mission to deepen that lock-in before the next election. A future government will face legal obstruction, bureaucratic inertia and pressure from vested interests.
That is why proper preparation matters. The next government will not have weeks or months to work this out from scratch. It will need a clear plan from day one, so it can move quickly, avoid predictable traps and start the process of delivering lower energy costs.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
Your donation will help fund policy development, legal analysis and impactful communications planning, so we can build broad public support for radical reform of our energy system and make energy more affordable.
Please donate today by clicking on the button at the top of this pageand help us prepare the ground for the next government.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Montford
