Furious Britons have condemned the Government for its latest environmental initiative that will see homeowners banned from using the most pollutant fuels on their open fires, wood burners and stoves.

Under new plans rolled out by Environment Secretary George Eustice sales of house coal and wet wood will be phased out in England from 2021. The move is estimated to affect 2.5million homes as Mr Eustice said the burning of the fuels has become the “most harmful pollutant” across the UK. But hundreds of Britons have vented against the Government’s “ridiculous” plans, leading many to ask how the ban will be policed.
Ian Murrell wrote:
This is just a government ego trip to try and be the first on climate control not giving a stuff for the people of this country.”
Joe-Isabella McGarry vowed to continue using their coal fire, and wrote:
What a load of rubbish, I have both coal fires and log burners and won’t be giving them up no matter what regulations they might to bring in.”
While Pat Nurse said the move suggested Boris Johnson’s Government was already becoming out of touch with the public.
She wrote:
Tories are already trying their best to lose the votes they were loaned.
So, so sick of this authoritarian greenist and nanny state rubbish.
How come a minority of political activists, often from the lunatic fringe infecting the mainstream, become the only people our elected Government listens to. Enough is enough!”
