President Václav Klaus To Deliver Inaugural Annual GWPF Lecture

The Global Warming Policy Foundation is proud to announce that its inaugural annual GWPF Lecture will be delivered by Václav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic.

The title of the lecture is: “The Climate Change Doctrine”

In his lecture, President Klaus will argue that today’s widely accepted climate change doctrine is driven not so much by science as by a collectivist environmental ideology which has become a vehicle for extensive government intervention into all fields of life, endangering both human freedom and economic prosperity.

When: Tuesday 19 October 2010, 7pm

Where: The Great Room, Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce, 8 John Adam Street, London WC2N 6EZ

Attendance at the lecture is by invitation only.

Václav Klaus has been President of the Czech Republic since 2003, having been re-elected for a second 5-year term in 2008. He was previously his country’s Prime Minister. An economist by training, he has written a number of books, including (in 2008) Blue Planet in Green Shackles – What is Endangered: Climate or Freedom?

Founded in November 2009, the Global Warming Policy Foundation is an all-party and non-party think tank and a registered educational charity. Its main purpose is to bring reason, integrity and balance to a debate that has become seriously unbalanced, irrationally alarmist, and all too often depressingly intolerant.
