BRITAIN has been warned that the world’s poorest countries need to find $1TRILLION (£660billion) in foreign aid to tackle climate change.

As the pressure mounts, Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to urge businesses to do more to tackle pollution as he warns that “climate change is too large for governments alone to deal with”.
Ahead of a new United Nations deal to curb global warming, predictions show that 48 least-developed countries (LDCs) in the world will cost some $93bn (£61.8bn) a year from 2020.This includes $53.8bn (£35.8bn) annually to reduce emissions and $39.9bn (£26.5bn) to deal with more extreme weather and rising seas, according to a report from the Environment and Development (IIED).

The warning comes as more than 50 world leaders gathered in Paris today for the start of the long-awaited talks about how to tackle global warming.
